Walking is something we already do and therefore is an easy   
exercise to add to your fitness program. Try the 12-week
beginner's walking program recommended by the
Mayo Clinic.
Then gradually add a fun aerobic exercise.
The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) defines
aerobic exercise as "any activity that uses large muscles
groups, can be maintained continuously, and is rhythmic in
nature". It is the type that overloads the heart and lungs and
causes them to work harder. For example: aerobic dance,
bicycling, cross country skiing, In;line skating fitness walking,
jumping rope, running, stair climbing, or swimming.
Strength  Training
Strength training has many benefits. One of the primary
benefits is to maintain muscle mass, which decreases
significantly with age.
