Ginger Brew

Ginger is a miracle root. Its medicinal qualities are limitless. Most of the
commercial brands of “ginger ale” contain little to no ginger. Good hot or cold for
digestion and nausea.  Also drink as a winter tonic to warm cold hands and feet!

Ingredients
2 large fresh ginger roots, washed and ground or grated (about 2 cups)
6 oz. of honey
½ gallon of water
½ cup of lemon juice
½ cup of pineapple or pear juice (optional)       

Instructions

In a stockpot heat water. Before water boils, add ginger. Let simmer for 10 to 20
minutes. Remove from heat. Skim the ginger from the top. Pour remaining liquid
through a strainer to remove all ginger solids. Let cool to drinking temperature
(but do not refrigerate). Add lemon and honey. Mix well. Store is a sealed
container. Chill. Can last for 1 week or more if kept refrigerated. Serves 20.
   
Variations
1.        Sparkling:  mix 2 parts Barbara’s Ginger Brew and 1 part sparkling water.
2.        Add more/less honey or lemon to suit your taste.
